Paintball Tournaments
The task of trying to get involved in paintball tournaments could seem extremely daunting to
someone who is new to the paintball tournaments scene. In fact, if you are completely new to the sport, it could
seem quite hard to find out who to speak to and where to go to get involved.
The fact is that it need not be as hard as it seems to get involved. As a beginner, however, it is
important that you build yourself up as a competent participant before trying to get into tournaments. This is
because many of the paintball tournaments around tend to attract some rather blood-thirsty competitors, especially
the paintball tournaments that offer large prizes. This is why it is better to start off entering tournaments that
have smaller grand prizes - the veterans will be more focused on the larger tournaments so you have a better chance
of improving your skills in the smaller paintball tournaments - you’ll just get slaughtered in the larger ones.
Before you can even begin to think about entering tournaments, however, you need to get yourself
properly equipped. You will need a paintball rifle, some protective gear, paintball rounds (pellets) and any other
accessories that you may feel will help you to get started. Once you have these basic items, you can start playing
on a recreational level - perhaps with some family and friends - until you get comfortable moving around in your
padded gear and become better at managing the paintball rifle. As soon as you find yourself becoming more competent
on the field, you can start looking for teams that are in need of extra members, or even start your own team if you
think you and your peers have what it takes to compete professionally.
Starting your own team may seem a bit daunting if you do not have sufficient financial backing.
This is because the sport can be highly competitive, and many teams competing in larger teams will put in
everything they have to ensure that have the best equipment to take on any team they may come across. If you do
decide to build up a team from scratch, however, it would be advisable to enter some smaller competitions and work
your way up financially as well as in terms of experience.
You cannot expect to win every one of the paintball
tournaments you enter, let alone the first. Thus, the best thing for you and your team is to practice and gain as
much experience as possible, and bear in mind that at the end of the day it’s all about having fun.
